I love okra. I love to eat it, especially broiled with olive oil, salt, fresh pepper. It must be fresh pepper–tge other tastes like dust. It’s flowers are magnificent (it’s a relative of the hibiscus) and it’s easy to cultivate. And as an artist I love to paint it. Okra is a symbol of the south, a reminder of the African influence in our food and culture. I hope you enjoy these small renditions of this magnificent vegetable.
